We hear you and we’re happy to tell you that your long wait is finally over! At last, it’s that time of the year when we get to unroll our mats in Toronto’s grassy parks (and on cobblestone walkways) for three-ish months of outdoor yoga.

June 2017

Celebration Square

Our friends in the west end needn’t feel left out. Fresh Air Fitness at Mississauga’s Celebration Square is back and already underway, with free sessions taking place every Wednesday night from now until the end of August. And it’s not just yoga being offered, either. Outdoor boot camps and Zumba classes are also on the schedule.

The Leslieville Flea

This curated, monthly market selling everything from vintage to upcycled and handcrafted goods will be hosting free yoga classes from June to October. Partnering with Afterglow Studio this summer, you can take part in a yoga flow suitable for all levels at Ashbridge Estate starting on June 11. Find out more on their Svveat host page.

lululemon athletica Eaton Centre

Back for another year, lululemon athletica Eaton Centre will be hosting complimentary yoga classes in the Sheraton Hotel’s beautiful waterfall courtyard staring on June 13. Word about these classes spread fast last year, so make sure to secure your spot each week. Find out more about how to register on their host page.

Afterglow Studio

We’re sure you’re already aware that our team loves this studio in The Beaches, and here’s yet another reason why: Starting on June 14, Afterglow is once again hosting free yoga in Kew Gardens Park on Wednesday evenings through August. For more information, visit the studio’s Host page on Svveat.

Park Yoga Toronto

Founded back in 2005, The Flying Yogi® studio takes their practice outdoors and into Toronto parks with donation-based classes that are completely open to the community. Weekly class offerings in Riverdale Park and Jonathan Ashbridges Park in the east end and Trinity Bellwoods Park on the west end mean you’ll have plenty of options. Liberty Life Yoga

Residents in Liberty Village won’t need to travel very far to get their weekly dose of outdoor yoga this summer. Starting on June 18, Liberty Life Yoga, in partnership with FindmeaCondo.ca and Liberty Village CARESwill be hosting classes in Liberty Village Park every Sunday morning until the end of August. Attending the class will be free, but the hosts will be collecting donations for various community organizations throughout the season. You can find out more on their new host page on Svveat.

Breathe Yoga Studio

You’ll have two opportunities to practise outdoors with this gem in The Junction. Catch the studio at the Junction Summer Solstice festival on June 24 for a free 60-minute outdoor yoga class. Planning on sticking around the city for Canada Day? Join Breathe for its annual Canada Day Free Yoga in High Park. Class times will be updated closer to the date, so keep an eye on the studio’s Host page and social media feeds for the most up-to-date information.

Lolë Yorkville

In case you didn’t know, the annual TD Toronto Jazz Festival has moved to Yorkville this year and will be taking place from June 23 to July 2. In addition to the over 100 free concerts during the 10-day music fest, Lolë Yorkville will be hosting a free outdoor yoga class for the public. The session has been tentatively scheduled for June 25, but check back on the Lolë Yorkville page on Svveat for updates.

Fresh City

The 6th annual Fresh City season launch event is taking place on June 25 at Downsview Park. Spend the afternoon exploring the makers’ market, the farm and the greenhouse, and finish off with a musical performance and a free Farm Flow Yoga session.

OmT.O.

The ever-popular OmT.O. is back this year on June 25 with another full day of free outdoor yoga classes taught by instructors from some of Toronto’s top yoga studios. Make your way over to the historic Distillery District between for a one-of-a-kind yoga experience, and explore the vendor and sponsor booths between sessions for some snacks and samples. Don’t forget to bring a signed participant waiver!

Harbourfront Centre

There is never a dull moment at the Harbourfront Centre, with family-friendly activities lined up all summer long. “Stretch in the 6ix” with YYoga Harbourfront as they host a free energizing morning hatha yoga class on June 27.

July 2017

Tribe Fitness

Summer hasn’t officially started in CityPlace until Tribe Yoga Jam launches in Canoe Landing Park. With a stunning backdrop of the Toronto skyline, participants flock from all over the GTA to take part in this free weekly event. The Tribe Fitness crew has confirmed they will be back on the lawn every Sunday morning starting July 2.

pus Garden will once again be offering a free weekly outdoor yoga class in Toronto’s west end. Yogis and fitness enthusiasts alike can join in on the fun every Sunday morning at Dufferin Grove Park starting July 2.

Yoga Meltdown

The 9th edition of Toronto’s Free Outdoor Spiritual Yoga Festival at Centre Island is scheduled for July 16. With ferry service still suspended to Centre Island due to this month’s flooding, we’re crossing our fingers (and toes) that this event will go forward as planned.     Yoga 889/Lulu hosted $2 yoga on the Thompson hotel deck the past 2 summers Sat afternoons!
